Sea Walking in the Andaman Islands

Top Locations:

• Elephant Beach, Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep): This is considered the best spot for sea walking due to its clear waters and proximity to vibrant coral reefs. The experience includes a short boat ride to the site, followed by a briefing and the sea walk itself. The activity duration is approximately 30 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes for training. 

• North Bay Island, Port Blair: Known as the first location in India to introduce sea walking, North Bay Island offers a rich marine ecosystem with diverse fish species and colorful corals. The sea walk here is conducted from a stationary platform surrounded by netted boundaries for safety.

Participant Terms & Conditions

1. I confirm that I am physically fit to participate in the sea walk and have informed the operator of any medical condition (heart, asthma/respiratory, ear/sinus, pregnancy, recent surgery).

2. I acknowledge that the activity involves walking on the seabed while wearing a helmet attached to an air supply, within approved trails and safe depths, under the supervision of trained staff.

3. I agree to follow all instructions, safety briefings and hand signals given by the staff and not to touch or disturb coral reef or marine life.

4. I understand that if the operator determines that sea/ weather conditions are unsafe, the session may be cancelled or postponed, and I will be offered a refund or reschedule as per policy.

5. I accept that the operator is not liable for personal injury, loss of valuables, or other incidents outside their direct control (subject to applicable law).

6. I agree not to fly within 12 hours after the sea walk (if applicable) to reduce risk of pressure-related issues.

7. I confirm I am not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of participation.

8. Cancellation Policy: If I cancel more than 24hours before the scheduled time, 80% refund will apply (or full refund less admin fee). If I cancel within  120hours, no refund (or specified charge). If the operator cancels due to weather/unsafe conditions, I will be offered full refund or reschedule.

9. I have read and agree to the operator’s full Terms & Conditions including liability waiver and cancellation policy.

• Participants (and if minors, their parent/guardian) must sign an Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability form.

• Age limits: Often, no person under ~7 years is allowed; children between 7-15 years must be accompanied by an adult.

• Health restrictions: Persons with certain medical conditions (heart disease, asthma/respiratory issues, pregnancy, recent major surgery, ear/sinus problems) are generally advised not to participate. 

• Safety briefing: Before the sea-walk starts, participants receive instructions/training on the helmet, movement, signals, and underwater communication.

• Equipment & operational safety: The operator must maintain proper equipment (helmet, breathing system, reserve air supply, maintenance logs, etc.). 

• Environmental protection: Participants must not touch or damage coral reefs or marine life, keep to approved trails, and operate within approved depth limits (often 7 m or less). 

• Weather & sea-condition rule: The operator will evaluate if conditions are safe; if not safe (strong current, low visibility, cyclone warning), the activity may be delayed or canceled. 

• Alcohol & drugs: Participants must not be under the influence of alcohol/drugs for safety

• If cancellation/rescheduling is initiated by the operator due to weather or sea-conditions, typically a full refund or alternative date is offered. 

• If you cancel, many operators apply non-refund or cancellation charges, especially if done on short notice (e.g., within 24–48 hours of the scheduled activity). 

• Some providers don’t allow changes (reschedule or refund) once the booking is confirmed or once certain deadlines have passed. 

• For unused related services (e.g., boat transfer), the policy may treat them differently.
